This pup behind the Terranea Resort roused himself when the waves splashed nearby.
More ailing sea lions — or so it seemed
Beach Life, Palos Verdes, Photography, Surf N Pixels, Words+PixelsThe sea lions are killing me this year: This pup behind the Terranea Resort didn’t seem too hearty, but at least he roused himself when the waves splashed nearby.
And I could swear this underfed specimen started approaching me, almost to beg for food. But I didn’t have any and there was a sign advising hikers not to disturb the marine animals, who were under observation. I still wished there was something I could do for the poor critters before I left them in peace.
Rooting for sea lion pups — long may they frolic
Beach Life, Hermosa Beach, Photography, Redondo Beach, Surf N Pixels, Words+PixelsIt’s been a tough season for sea lion pups, and I’ve been seeing more of them beached for rest, sun or recuperation. I spotted this guy near an obviously dead sea lion on my run late this afternoon and feared the worst …
Only to see him rouse himself and head for the water
Wriggling in the sun before he dove in the ocean
Further down the sand I spotted this sleeping beauty under the Hermosa pier, very near where I spotted a resting pup this morning. I hope his mother brings him food soon.
