Pigeon Point Lighthouse, oh so tall

This lighthouse ties with the one in Point Arena for tallest on the West Coast at 115-ft. tall. I kept backing up further and further to get it all in the frame on a very windy day.

It was named for the Carrier Pigeon, which wrecked nearby in 1853 and prompted its construction. There’s a hostel on the park premises, located on Highway 1 in Pescadero.
