Fog burned off for St. Pat’s Day — lots of wearing of the green in Hermosa

The coastal fogathon ended in time for St. Patrick’s Day and the crowds hit the beach in festive green. By 2 p.m. the lines at Hermosa’s bars were growing.
The drum circle also showed off its Celtic flair, as evidenced by this departing member.
And the ocean looked glorious.

From a visit the other day
How foggy was it? This foggy!

It was so foggy when I stopped by Playa del Rey this afternoon that it looked otherworldly. There’s a man and a lifeguard stand shrouded in that fog.
People went sailing in the marina anyway
Rowed their way up the channel
And even walked along the strand.
But they were not playing beach volleyball — the courts were empty, as evidenced here.

It may be toasty inland, but it’s still foggy near the beach. Playa was fairly deserted when I stopped by this afternoon.
